How can you Earn Money On The Web?

by: Tal Fighel
Are you looking to earn money on the web? Let's look at 3 easy ways you can earn money using the internet. Affiliate programs, home based business, and internet marketing.

Affiliate programs:
Affiliate programs may be the easiest way to earn money on the web. Why?
With any online business you must have a product or service to sell. First you must create this product or service and then you must be able to fill orders or find people who will sell it for you for a hefty commission.

Affiliate programs allow you to sell another company's service or product and make a commission on every sale or lead. You do not even need to build a website, process the order, ship the product to the person, or anything like that. Your only job is to drive traffic (customers) to your affiliate link and hope that they click on it and buy the product.

An affiliate link is a special URL code that will identify customers coming to the company's site from your advertising. It will likely be the website address with a code attached to the end.

Some affiliate programs also have tiers. That means if someone who is interested in SELLING the product comes through your link and signs up you will also get a small percentage of THEIR earnings. This is also called internet network marketing.

A home based business:
This is a business which is really described as a work at home business. The person reserves a room in the house and builts an office in it. There they have there own computer, telephone, possibly a secretery, and some nice furniture.

A home business can be anything from party plans, to mlm businesses, or any business based in your home and conducted outside of it.

Internet marketing:
This is the use of the internet to advertise and sell real tengible merchandise or services. This involves the use of someone's site and e-mail to inform his/hers customers about a product, answer their questions and feedbacks, and accept their orders directly through the online internet world.

Virtually any product or service can be sold online for a generous commission. This is a great way to earn money if you already have a product.

An excellent program that combines all 3 things, affiliate programs, internet marketing, and your own home business is the Plugin Profit Site (PIPS). In 3 easy steps you can be set up with your own money making website, and internet marketing newsletter that you can run from your own home.

This is, in my view, the best earn money on the web opportunity for someone who doesn't have the knowledge, money, or the time to set up their own home business on the internet. You can learn more here: http://www.talfighel.com/pluginprofitsite.html

13. Exposing The Myth Of The Free Home Business

Home Business Success is All In The Mind

by: Mal Keenan
Having attended my first Internet marketing seminar, hosted by Frank Garon in the U.K on June 11th/12th, I am not surprised at the content of each speaker's presentations.

Now before you go tell the online world that Mal Keenan is branding Frank Garon's seminars as predictable, let me explain.....

Noticing the top of each speakers' list of topics for discussion, each contributor had one thing in common, and that was the word "Mindset" or a similar term relating to the attitude with which you approach your online business.

You see I have always held the view, and it was confirmed at this conference, that you MUST get your head right before you even think about becoming a success at ANYTHING. My home business newsletter( http://www.home-business-tips-newsletter.com/ ) for a long time now has given equal space to the "Mindset for success" aspect of business......I have made a point to feature a success article every week aswel as an Internet Marketing "how to" article. The ATTITUDE is AS Important as the DOING.

Success IS NOT going to come overnight and it is better that you enter into a business venture with this fact in mind. Of all the successful people online, the vast majority have persisted for quite some time and surmounted many obstacles to get to where they are today.

Hard work is also involved....time should be set aside daily to work non-stop on your current project. "Non-stop" meaning avoidance of too much time spent on useless activities like constantly checking your commission statistics or email accounts for new sales. I have been guilty of this time waster in the past and even to this day.

Focus on your business and engage in at least one positive thing daily to add value to your business.
Look at the beliefs that may be holding you back, for instance, do you secretly harbor a belief that too much money will bring more responsibility than you can handle? You need to drop this idea immediately or it will sabotage all your success efforts.

In conclusion, one should devote equal time to working on the "inner" beliefs that propel or hinder our business success as to the planning and hard work that it takes to reach our goals.

Home Business Success - 5 Things You Learn From Your Ex-Boss

by: Gobala Krishnan

In the past, everyone could take pride in working for large, multinational companies. The current trend of downsizing and outsourcing, however, has brought major changes in the employment landscape. One thing for sure, as job security becomes a thing of the past, many are turning towards starting their own home based businesses.

Job security has its merits, and a home business is, arguably, not for everyone. But for those who are interested in making this shift, a change in mentality is absolutely important. There are many bad habits that lie dormant in all of us. You need to change these bad habits and develop new good habits to survive as an entrepreneur. And in many cases these can be 'borrowed' from your existing or former corporate work environment.

Here are some new disciplines that you can borrow from your working life, to develop and to practice:

1) Ownership and Decision Making
In corporate culture, you are responsible only for what your job requires you to do. In most jobs however, you are hardly responsible for the survival of the company. Your contribution, as compared to the whole, is only marginal. You can make mistakes and get away with it. Your job is easily replaceable.

As an entrepreneur, however, you may find the world to be less forgiving. A mistake can cost you your entire business. It is vital for anyone who wants to start their own home based business to think about this fact. You have to realize that success in a home based venture is directly tied up to your actions, and you need to take responsibility for everything that happens.

In your own business, you need to go beyond your capacity at times, stretching yourself more than you would as an employee. Taking responsibility also means being able to make the correct decisions as and when needed. When you work from home, YOUR decision is final. Although it may a little scary for an entrepreneur at first, these habits practiced over time becomes second nature.

It sure beats having to put up with corporate red-tape!

2) Developing a Creative Mindset & Taking Risks
Companies hardly, if ever, reward you for being creative. They do, however, reward you for showing up on time and completing your daily routines. You are rewarded not for being outstanding, but for being average.

As an entrepreneur, you need to shake off the bad habit of doing things the usual way, the "way it's always been done" There is nothing wrong with using standard procedures and methods. In fact, sticking to the 'rules' can help you make a decent living. But if you want the big money, like I do, you need to start thinking "Outside the Box". A little bit of ingenuity in your business can save you a lot of money and time.

Ingenuity involves finding solutions to a problem. You may, at any stage of your home business, realize that you just don't have an abundance of resources. Resources in this context can be money, time, expertise or just about everything else that you need, but just don't have...

As you might have figured, creativity comes with risk. Doing something new is more risky than doing it the old way, but the payoff is incredible. Thinking outside the box might result in failure, just as well as it might lead to amazing success. But risk is not necessarily a bad thing, especially when it is studied, anticipated and even welcomed.

So what do you do?

Most home business challenges can be solved, even if you are not a genius or have thousands of dollars to spend. If you can just use your ingenuity, you can find a solution to these challenges.

Figure out how to make the best of your advertising dollars. Figure out how to save time and automate your business. Figure out how to complement your skills using the skills of others. Small steps like these can go a long way in determining just how successful you will be.

3) Making Your Own Rules & Organizing Time
Imagine you arrive at work one day and find that the punch-card machine has been removed. The company also fired your boss, and the new rules say that you can come in at any time you want, bring your wife and kids along, and take as many breaks as you want. Shorts and a T-shirts are now the standard, accepted work attire.

What would you do?

I know what I would do - absolutely nothing at all! I would take advantage of the situation, and do absolutely no work at all. As days go by, I get lazier and eventually become a total slob.

A home business environment is not much different from the scenario above. In the absence of corporate rules, you must develop your own self imposed "home business rules". Set a time for work, for play, and for household activities. If you just decide to "go with the flow", you often get no where at all.

I used to think that money was the most important asset of my home business. Being quite naive, I thought that with more money, I could be successful faster. After all, money is king. With more money, I could buy more "big time" advertising, hire assistants and equip my business with the best software systems.

It didn't take me long to realize that time is more important than money. Money simply cannot buy time. But with more time, I can all make all the money I want. Put in another way, I would say that MORE TIME is more important than just MORE MONEY. But none of us, not you, nor me, can have more than 24 hours a day at our disposal.

So, as a home business entrepreneur, we need to ultimately learn how to make the best use of the time that we have. This easy to say, but it will take discipline to see it through. Discipline is not easy to achieve, but it CAN be done. Just focus on doing a little bit every day, and stick to the timeline you had laid out, and you will get into the productive rhythm that comes with discipline.

4) Continuous Self-improvement
The home business arena is highly competitive. As an entrepreneur you will need to keep up with any event that will effect your business, for better or worse.

Corporations usually have mandatory training courses for all employees. If you are someone who attended these courses just to get away from doing work, or just to get some extra sleeping time in the class, then you need to change your attitude.

As an entrepreneur you must to find ways to enrich yourself with more knowledge. Take that accounting class, attend that local business seminar and read related books. Don't see these as additional expenses, see them as long term investment. An investment in knowledge, after all, yields the best return.

Every type of business is subject to slowdowns. If you do not continuously improve your skills and knowledge, simply throwing in more money or hiring more people when that happens will not solve the problem. The only way to move forward, to get to "the next level" is to acquire new knowledge. New knowledge opens up more opportunities for your business.

5) Commitment to Your Goals & Deadlines for Success
"I want this on my desk by 2.00pm".
Sounds familiar? Most of us seek a home based business because we want to escape the pressures of a 9-5 job. The word "deadline" may send a shiver through your spine.

The irony, however, is that deadlines are EXACTLY what you need to succeed in just about anything. As an entrepreneur, these deadlines always are, and must be, self-imposed. There are many book on how to set and achieve goals (my recommendations at http://www.home-business-association.com/books/) and I suggest you read as many as you can.

Having family around you can be used to your advantage. Communicate your goals to your wife or husband. Promise your kids a vacation when you've finished a major task. Soon, you will get little "bosses" running around telling you to stop watching TV and get to your work. Well, at least they are "adorable" bosses!

An excerpt from the book 'Think and Grow Rich' by Napoleon Hill (pg. 15):
...a great warrior faced a situation which made it necessary for him to make a decision which insured his success on the battlefield. He... gave the order to burn the ships that carried them. Addressing his men before the first battle he said "You see the boats going up in smoke? That means that we cannot leave these shores alive unless we win! We now have no choice - We win - or we perish".

They won.

And no matter what YOUR goals are in seeking self-employment and an entrepreneurial life, with commitment to your goals and determination to meet your deadlines, you too will win. Take the positive aspects of your current of former work environment to build a healthy and productive home business mentality to ensure that you are heading towards success.

Here's to your success. Cheers.

Home Business Opportunities Abound on The Internet

by: Darrell Knox
Looking for a home business opportunity on the internet these days is a pretty involved process. That is, if you don’t know how to eliminate 90% of the junk that’s out there and pick among the home business opportunities that actually have merit and track records.

What works?

Information sales, auctions, hard goods that can be shipped, books, reports, network marketing, you name it! There are just certain types of home business opportunities that you want to stay away from. Those are things where someone you don’t know from Adam is making guarantees that are way too good to be true. Anyone who makes it sound like money is dripping from the internet for you to simply catch in a bucket is a liar and a thief.

You will never have success with home business opportunities that promise you that you will never have to work, or make things sound too easy. Take it from a professional, working online or offline with a home business opportunity is work.

But home business opportunities have perks that are better than any job you could ever imagine.
You work for yourself and answer to no one but your customers You can make as much or as little as you want You can work as much or as little as you want You can take time off whenever you want You can make your schedule totally flexible You can work on the internet and work from anywhere in the world You can save money on clothes you had to buy for jobs You can save money on gas, car maintenance and insurance You can get great tax breaks owning your own business

Travel and other expenses can be tax deductible
The list of great things I can think of about a home business goes on and on. Here are some of the things that can be a drain on you with a home business opportunity:

You can’t leave your business at certain critical times of growth Your family will sometimes become a distraction when you are working at home Your bed is in the same place as your work There’s no boss to keep you honest about your hours There’s no boss to keep you on your focus to complete critical tasks No one will do the work for you Customers can be a pain sometimes The money in the beginning can come in sporadically (people who cannot handle any kind of financial stress should definitely keep their jobs until their home business opportunity starts paying the bills regularly).

No pain no gain. No risk, no profit. No investment, no return. A home business opportunity is like any other business. Don’t let anyone tell you differently!

But for those of us that thrive on making our own way in the world, who love that there is no limit to what we can make, and no one but our spouses to tell us what to do, there is nothing under the sun better than a home business!

Home Business Misconceptions

by: Kelly Lowe

In my home business coaching sessions, I have found that many people start their home businesses based on misconceptions, myths, and half truths. They are being told that they can sign up for a few programs, build a site around those topics, slap the banners and links on their site, then sit back and collect the money - never having to work again.

Wrong.

The truth of the matter is that there are more people who fail at their home businesses, than people who actually succeed. These people are not told that they will actually have to work twice as hard at their home businesses as they did at their traditional job. They are not told about the hours and hours of marketing time that they will put in. They usually are not even told by the affiliate managers how to market the products or their websites.

They have uplines who are inactive or flat out ignore them. They don't have the first clue as to how to build a downline, much less how to offer support to their downline. They don't understand conversion rates or the concept of PPC (pay per click) programs.

However, they truly believe what they have been told - They believe that they can get rich by doing absolutely nothing. These are otherwise intelligent people. Why would they believe this? They believe because they want to believe. Because they see it everyday, everywhere on the Internet.

They are told that it is possible. They not only want to believe it - for their own reasons, they need
to believe it.

Unfortunately, it is my job to tell them the truth and then they feel let down. By the time a client comes to me for help, they are already a bit disillusioned. Since initial clients usually begin by paying for one session at a time, I go ahead and burst their bubble during the first session. I don't want them to spend money that they don't have on an idea that won't work.

After the first session, the client is left to make a decision. They either have to do what it takes to make their business a success, toss the idea out the window, or keep doing exactly what they have been doing with the exact same results (or lack of results as the case may be). Less than half are willing to do what it takes to succeed. The rest toss the idea out the window. I've never had a client who decided to keep doing what they had been doing.

I do have a point. My point is that if you are an affiliate manager, or if you have a downline, be honest. Tell your affiliates and downlines the truth. Tell them upfront what will be required of them. Be honest about possible earnings, and be honest about your own earnings. After being honest, "look around" to see who is still interested in your business. I promise, there will still be people interested - people willing to put forth the effort that is required. These are the people that you want to invest your time in.

Once you know who is serious about the business, work with them closely. Offer them all of the support you can possibly offer. Make suggestions to help them improve their site. Put together marketing packages and ideas for them. Start a forum for your downline, and be active in that forum. If you haven't heard from them in a while, send them an email or a card and ask them if everything is okay. The more successful your downline is, the more successful you are.

Home Business Legalities And Tax Advantages

by: Dean Phillips
Most cities and/or counties require you to have a business license and/or permit. Check with your local government municipalities to find out what the requirements are for where you live. Depending on where you live, you should be able to get this information from your local courthouse or townhall.

Zoning may also be an issue. Municipal ordinances can be very restrictive about what types of businesses are allowed in a residential district. This also applies if you plan on placing a sign outside of your home. Again, check with your local government municipalities to find out what the
requirements are for where you live.

In addition, depending on how your home business is structured--as a sole proprietorship, partnership or corporation--there may be forms to file with the state. The legal structure affects taxes and the liability of the owner and the home business, so it's important to follow the appropriate procedures. Contact your state's Department of Revenue for filing fees and information.

If you plan to operate your home business under a name other than your own, you will have to register a fictitious name with the county--usually referred to as a DBA filing (Doing Business As). The exceptions to this regulation are corporations and partnerships doing business under the umbrella of the corporate or partnership name.

As a home business owner, you may be required to file estimated tax returns and pay estimated taxes quarterly. If you have employees, you also have to submit taxes withheld from employee paychecks. Here are some of the taxes you may be responsible for:

Employment taxes -- Federal income taxes, Social Security and Medicare, federal unemployment and state income taxes.

Federal self-employment tax--Required by those who work for themselves to cover Social Security and Medicare contributions.

Sales tax--Each state requires a sales tax number for any company involved in selling tangible items. Sales tax is collected, reported and paid to the state either monthly or quarterly.

Unemployment insurance tax -- You are required to pay federal and state unemployment taxes if you have more than one employee on the books for at least 20 weeks in a calendar year, or if they have paid more than $1,500 in gross wages in a calendar quarter.

Again, check with your state's Department of Revenue for more information.

A home business qualifies for all of the same tax deductions regular businesses do. In the eyes of the IRS, the only difference between most home businesses and Fortune 500 Companies is their size, and the fact that home businesses can also deduct many household and living expenses.

Owning a home business will entitle you to deduct thousands of dollars in every day expenses. After all, why pay more in taxes than you have to?

Listed below are just some of the items you are allowed to deduct:
* Your car and car expenses.
* Your mileage.
* Your home computer, printer and other office equipment.
* Your home. If you're not a homeowner, you are allowed to deduct the area where your home office is set-up.
* If you're a homeowner, you may deduct a portion of your property taxes and utilities.
* Your travel expenses.
* Your restaurant meals, entertainent, dinner parties.
* You may pay wages, tax free, to two of your children, if they are involved with the business.
* You may deduct your families health insurance.

NOTE: To qualify for the above tax deductions, you must be actively working your home business.
In closing, since tax laws are continually changing, I highly recommend you consult with your accountant or tax advisor to learn more about applying the aforementioned deductions to your home business.

Home business happiness

by: Stephen Mistretta
Defining Your Happiness For Home Business Success
You might be saying now “Steve why are you writing an article on happiness? This is a Home Business Site!” The reason is that I estimate that at least 70%+ of you are making the switch to Home business due to lack of feelings of happiness and fulfillment in your life.

For this reason, it is important for you to understand what you really want to achieve from your home business. Personally, I have been trying to define in my life what really makes me happy and how I can make money at it. What I am looking for is much more than money. I am looking for calm and a sense of peace in my life.

To find out if you are really ready to work for yourself from home? Ask yourself the following questions:

1. Do you have a hobby that you would do daily for free?
This is one of the keys to success and happiness in a home business. You must have drive and passion in order to succeed. Doing something you really enjoy will help smooth out the bumps in the road. Also, doing something you really enjoy will help you to tolerate the remaining time at your ‘other’ job. Please do not choose a home business based only on your perceived earning potential. If you do, the chances are you won’t have the long-term persistence needed to succeed.

2. Is it money that you really want or is it the freedom of choice you really want?
This is a critical question because, again, if it is solely money you are looking for you will not have the enthusiasm and passion needed for long-term success. Focus on doing what you love and the money will follow. People will see your enthusiasm and it will spread to your clients.

3. Are people you work with dragging you down emotionally and spiritually?
One thing I know for sure is that I no longer want to be around negative people. Mark Twain has a great saying “Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.

Everyone knows a person like the character on Saturday Night Live “Debbie Downer.” Lets face it, some people are only happy if they are complaining about something or are raining on someone else’s parade. Avoid these people at all costs, remember it is better to be alone and focused and passionate about what you are doing.

4. Do you want to start off fresh where you are in control?
Starting your own home business is like having a clean tapestry for painting. You control your destiny. You control what “colors” to use. Think big, never small, and you can do it.

Jeff and I have created our site to help you with home business questions from A-Z, please use it and sign up for our newsletter. We will be updating the site weekly with info to include:
Interviews with some of the top Internet marketers and some of the top self-improvement people on the net.

5. Do you enjoy helping others when you can?
Owning your own business provides you with an opportunity to give back to your community. This also provides an excellent Barter and Networking opportunity. Help as much as you can afford to and these good deeds will come back to help you in the future.
Have faith in the overall good in people but, at the same time, realize that some people might try to take advantage of your generosity. Use bartering in some of the situations to help lower your overall costs.

6. Do you believe in expanding your mind through research and networking?
If you enjoy research you will be well served by starting your own business. You will have to learn some Accounting basics and Marketing skills as well as some Tax basics. Network with people who can help you in these areas. Suggest bartering your services with them. This is a great grass roots way to get advertising for your home business. If you come across a dishonest person, break the relationship as quickly and tactfully as possible - they will only cause you harm and heartache.

7. Are you dedicated and disciplined?
Setting up a schedule and ‘things to do’ list will greatly help with your organizational and time management problems. You must be disciplined and stick to your schedule. Complete one task at a time and move to the next. MANY business have failed because of having to many‘ irons in the fire.’ This leads to lack of focus, which is one of the number one reasons that businesses fail.

8. Are you prepared to ignore the negative ‘nay sayers’?
Be prepared to have to ‘cull’ some of your friends, There will always be people who are jealous of your drive, passion and determination. Accept that fact and don’t let them take up any of your time. If the Nay Sayer is your spouse or another family member, sit them down and tell them how much your new business means to you and your future together. If they cannot be positive, ask them not to comment at all. Usually after family members see how hard you are working they will come around and begin to support you. Try getting them involved with smaller tasks that they can take off your plate.

9. Are you prepared to work at your other job until your Home Business takes off?
This is something that people don’t think enough about. You should be prepared to stay at your ‘other’ job for at least six months while building your home business. Many people have quit only to find the HB doesn’t provide enough immediate income so they have to crawl back to the old job, or worse find another lower-paying job. I personally made this mistake

10. Are you prepared to take an open and honest look at your behaviors?
This is something that I really had to be honest with myself about. For years I had grown a negative attitude, almost to the point that I had a chip on my shoulder. I sat down with an old friend and discussed my situation and he said “Steve your attitude stinks.” I was in shock. Upon really looking at my behavior I saw that I had created negative ‘anchors’ that were standing in the way of my success.

When I looked at a job, all the negative feelings from my previous jobs flooded into me. Be conscious of what you are feeling, and be prepared to eliminate the negative and accentuate the positive. Remember, Bill Gates started in a dorm room, Michael Dell started in a garage. Do not be afraid. You CAN do it - it takes a plan, discipline, hard work and follow through.

In closing, let me say once again that you can do it. You deserve success and the happiness it brings. Franklin D. Roosevelt said “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” Don’t be afraid - you deserve this success. We all do. Nelson Mandela put our ideas about self doubt and fear far better then I ever could:

“And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
— Nelson Mandella

Now get out there and kick butt. If you would like to contact me please see below.
We are always looking for positive, persistent people to partner with. If we can help you in your success we will be glad to do so.

Home based Business - Tips for Time Management

by: Lakshmi Menon
Unless we devote enough time for our home business we cannot expect to get positive results. Just setting up a home business is not sufficient. It will not run on its own.

You may think that you are fully occupied with your home management and left with no free time at your disposal, even though you wished it so. If you really want to make some extra bucks from home along with managing your home and kids, lack of time cannot be considered as an excuse. If that strong will is there, all that you have to do is make adjustments with your routine work at home and proper time management. It can be easily achieved by little bit of planning and organising your routine work.

1. It is worth remembering the old saying, “If there is a will there is a way”. If you organize your work in a better way you will be surprised to find that extra time that you very badly needed to devote towards your home based business.

2. Spend some time thinking to find out where your time is spent more than it is absolutely needed. Ask yourself “Can I manage this work by reducing 15 minutes of my time spent for this”? If more of your time is spent in cooking you have to sit and think how you can finish your cooking faster and get some time from that task. The easier thing will be if you plan what you are going to do in advance instead of rushing each time. A planned work can be finished faster than the one done without any planning.

3. Teaching the kids to be self- disciplined and self-reliant is another method to find time. If they can do some of their work without your help you will get some free time. The older child can be given the responsibility of taking care of the younger ones when you are busy with your home business or other work, for which don’t forget to reward them for their understanding. Also engage them with something they enjoy doing when you are busy with your work.

4. Are you spending more time watching television? Do you think it is absolutely essential to spend that much time? By giving up some of your regular serials and soaps you will find some extra time at your disposal.

Not only the ones mentioned above, anything which takes your time such as gardening, shopping, paying bills, running errands, visiting friends and relatives, afternoon naps, chatting and gossiping with friends etc can be reevaluated and you will be able to squeeze some time there.

In the beginning, this type of adjustments will be little difficult, but soon you will see its worth. But once your mind is set for finding time to work for your home business, gradually it will become a practice of finishing your work faster. You will soon find the extra time for what you always wanted to do.
