Are You Still Looking For A Job?

by: Janice Sharman
Most people I know are unhappy with their jobs. The alarm clock becomes the enemy at 6:00 o’clock on a Monday morning as its shrill cry signals the end of an all too short weekend mini-break. But, spurred on by the thought of a paycheck guaranteed to be there whether the mind accompanies the body to work that day or not, they make the noble sacrifice and head out into the big, brave job world.

Statistics show that Home-based businesses are the hottest and fastest growing segment of the American economy. By the end of 2005 it is predicted that as many as 75% of the working population will be working from their homes.

Most people would love to have a work from home job - one where they can stay at home and work for someone else just like they do in the office.

Have you looked around the Internet at the "work from home jobs"? They are mainly for the highly specialized professions - programmers, medical and legal transcriptionists, graphic designers and for project specialists in fields such as technology research. I don't know about you but my expertise in these fields is almost zero and I am sure that is true for the majority of the population of planet earth.

To my mind these highly specialized jobs not only appeals to a very tiny segment of the home-job-seeking population, they also do not offer much flexibility. You don't get to pick your clients, your co-workers, or your hours on the job. In effect you become a telecommuter with a supervisor who wants to dictate your every move just to make sure you are really working. What is worse is that telecommuters are still subject to the company's employment policies and procedures and are definitely not in control of their working environment.

Most people who want a home-based business are not willing to exercise the discipline it would take to start earning the thousands of dollars the gurus and top Home Business marketers claim can be made so easily. They are content with making just enough to pay the bills and have a stress-free work environment.

The pros of a successful Home-based Business far outweigh the cons. A Home Business can be anything you want it to be – A messenger service, a hairdressing salon, affiliate marketing, an Internet franchise, a bookstore, etc. The world is your oyster, and if your business is an online one, you can create the business you really want. Just think, you could be leaping out of bed each morning excited and ready to begin work instead of prying yourself out of bed dreading the thought of returning for even one more day to a job you hate and a boss you despise.

The corporate world has become increasingly unpredictable . I have relatives and friends who have changed jobs numerous times in the last 5-7 years. You would think these are entry level earners but most of them have MA's, PHD's and advanced university degrees. Twenty years ago, one could bank on having just 2-3 jobs in their lifetime, the average is now between 8-16.

The corporate world is changing rapidly. Companies are downsizing or relocating to countries that have cheaper labor costs. This trend is set to continue. Even if you possess those rare skills I mentioned earlier, you still won't be in full control of your job situation until you have your own home business.

With your own home business you are in the driver's seat; you are the boss! You set the goals and you decide the fate of your company. You will never get laid off because the company you work for is relocating or downsizing.

The best part is, that when you own your own home business, you get to have leisure time and vacations whenever you want. You call the shots because you are in control of your destiny! And, even though you may have heard it many times before, owning your own business is, without a doubt, your surest pathway to accumulating true wealth.

Still looking for a JOB? Whether it is an office job or you are telecommuting - it is still a "JOB". Someone else is still putting a cap on what your lifetime earnings would be worth. It’s time to lift the ceiling. Start thinking seriously about setting up and growing your own home business. You will find a satisfaction deep inside that you never knew your work could provide, and the Monday Morning Blues will be a thing of the past.

Are You Experienced Enough To Start A Home Business?

by: Janice Sharman
The business gurus will tell you: if you start with what you know your chances of success will be much greater. Okay, but suppose you want to try something new, something drastically different from your present career or a business that is way outside the your realm of experience? Should having no knowledge of that business stop you from pursuing it?

My answer is a resounding 'No!' You can start cold turkey and still be wildly successful.

When trying to make a decision about starting your own business, you will find yourself asking one of these questions:

* "How much experience do I need to start a home business?"
* "Do I have enough experience to start a home business?"

Textbook don't answer these questions. You can either go ahead hoping for the best, or you can go slowly analyzing every little step.

It is possible to go from being a bricklayer to a successful Internet Guru. There are true stories of partially educated teenagers who stumble on to a bright idea and become wildly successful.

A growing number of stay-at-home moms travel way out of their comfort zones into the untried world of business. Yet without prior preparation or knowledge of the world they were entering, met with stunning success. It is just a matter of how willing you are to take risks and educate yourself.

Stone Evans had no knowledge of the Home Business Industry when he started working as an affiliate, yet he persevered. Now his PlugInProfit Sites are famous and I'm sure he is enjoying his well-earned success.

One of the important personal traits of an entrepreneur is the willingness to explore new horizons, take risks and accept responsibility for the risks taken. An entrepreneur needs to be good at self-motivation, or have the characteristic that gets and keeps a person moving even when things seem dismal. It is this trait that will enable you to continue despite drawbacks, like very little capital, lack of education or limited experience.

Don't get me wrong; knowledge and expertise are important. Studies have shown that lack of business experience is one of the major reasons for the failure of any business. So, if you are the kind of person who likes to analyze your options then take time to evaluate all the factors, then stick with your preferences.

If you think that you need more business experience, there are a number ways to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for your venture. You can scour the Internet for education packages, or you could choose to get on-the-job training to give you some hands-on experience in your field of interest by teaming up with someone who already has an online business. There are definite advantages to working with someone else in your industry of choice. You "earn as you learn," while you increase your chances of becoming known online, which makes it much easier when you decide to go it alone.

Approach obstacles like learning how to run a home business or a new aspect of home business management, as an exciting challenge and meet the challenge head-on. Many of the successful entrepreneurs who started their ventures, did so without fully understanding the mechanics involved, like them you must motivate yourself to learn whatever is necessary to accomplish your goals.

Take the initiative! Learn everything you can about your prospective business - the product or service that you plan to sell, the niche you are thinking of entering, your competition and your prospective market. Be sure to do your homework.

If you possess common sense, the ability to learn new skills, are enthusiastic about taking risks, or have the courage to venture into the unknown, and the persistence to continue - you should be able to overcome the initial lack of expertise and be wildly successful. Have faith in yourself and determine come what may, you will have your own home business.

Resolve within yourself to meet the daily challenges with courage, giving the best you have to give. Running a successful home business is not magic, it is about finding the information you need, then putting it into practice, one step at a time.

A Reality Check...The Necessary First Step Before Starting A HomeBusiness

by: Kirk Bannerman
I have helped thousands of people start up their own home based businesses using the Internet. Over time, I have come to recognize two of the most important factors for identifying people that should NOT start a home based business.

If a prospective entrepreneur says something like...
"I'm broke and need to make some money...fast!"

or,

"I want to start a home business, but I don't want to spend anything on it until after I start earning some money."
...it is certain that they have not "gotten real" and should not attempt to start a home business under either of those
conditions. I refer to them as the "death sentences" for starting a home based business.

Almost equally important is the need to have realistic economic expectations when undertaking a home based business. There is no magic here, folks. A home based business provides many rewards such as working in the comfort of your own home, avoiding a stressful commute, being your own boss, setting your own hours, no dress code, etc., etc., but anyone that is also expecting "instant riches" is sadly mistaken.

There are a tremendous number of home business and work at home opportunities offered on the Internet. Many of these are all hype and try to convince you that you will be making huge amounts of money in very little time (you know, stuff like..."you will be making $5,000 per week, and more, in just a few weeks!"). You should avoid these like the plague...if they were for real everyone would be doing it.

Study the opportunities carefully and select the home business opportunity that seems to fit your own particular style or
talents. What is a good choice for one person may be a very poor fit for someone else. The common thread that applies to everyone is that you must be "for real" (as indicated above) and the business opportunity itself must be "for real".

An opportunity called Home Business

by: Arun Pal Singh
Opportunity has strange ways of presentation. While you may search heavily for it everywhere, it will stand there silently, waiting to be found. It will not knock your door or pat on your back to grab your attention.
It will stand there; appear in disguise waiting for you to recognize it and lift the veil from its face. It demands action from you, yet it won’t give the slightest hint of its existence. Why?

A man who seeks opportunity will eventually find one. When, how and where entirely depends on the sharpness of the seeker. Opportunities are already there. If we are not conscious, we don’t see one. Only when we start becoming conscious , we start finding one.

Recently a friend of mine critically asked me “If home business on the net can bring so much wealth and freedom to oneself how come everybody is not sitting at home and earning”.

He was trying to negate that money can be earned by online business. I tried to explain him about online earning but he was not ready to accept the reason.
“I think that is wastage of time.” He completely rejected me.
He was not conscious of the fact and he could not be subjected to reason.
Well! Then home business is not for him.

First step to find an opportunity is to believe that it exists. One must accept that it is there. Then one must become conscious of home business’ money earning potential.

When you become conscious of something you start noticing that in abundance. If you are not conscious of something you can’t see that even surrounding are full of it.

That is law of nature.
Nature has designed things in this fashion to avoid the revelation to the unprepared and thus unworthy.
The opportunity can only be used by able. One who can recognize the opportunity and acts to tap it is an able man. Other kinds either will not find the chance or let it pass without utilization.

Home business on the net has produced millionaires. Countless people started with limited resources and now earn unlimited wealth. What did they do?

They recognized an opportunity and took action. They had eyes for the opportunity and audacity for taking an action. That is what makes them stand apart in addition to the wealth they have made.

They were able.
Taking an action is second step for tapping the opportunity. Action taking is must if you want to get yields from opportunity. Otherwise the opportunity is as good as no opportunity.

Opportunity for home based business would always remain. With internet expanding at such a fast pace, potential of home business is much more than ever.

But only those seek with conviction and vision would find one.
Moreover, only those who are courageous enough to take action would find their way to enormous wealth.
People who lack conviction, courage or both will not find any wealth in the home business or for that matter anything.

A Major Temptation When Developing A Home-Based Business

by: Kirk Bannerman
From what I have seen and experienced, to quit is the greatest temptation during the first year of working at a home-based business. If smoking was like working at a home-based business, the occurence of lung cancer would be dramatically reduced.

It is a known fact that a majority of the people that undertake a work at home business do not achieve real success. There are several reasons for this, but one of the primary reasons is that these people get frustrated and do not allow themselves enough time to succeed.

In the early going, one of the most difficult things about developing a new home based business is dealing with the emotional roller coaster that can result from the highs (successes) and lows (temporary setbacks) you are almost certain to experience. Once you have done the research and decided on a particular home based business opportunity, you really need to focus on persistence and realize that any real business will not just automatically become successful in a matter of days or weeks. You should be prepared to give it your best sustained effort for at least 6 to 12 months in order to begin to build a solid business base and begin to see some good income.

Highs and lows were something that I began to notice when I first started a home based business. I have many years of top level management experience in "traditional" corporations and have experienced lots of business cycles (corporate "ups and downs"), but the natural "ups and downs" that occur in a home business (particularly in the early stages) can be brutal from an emotional standpoint if you don't prepare yourself in advance for the fact that it is a basic law of nature...it will be a rocky road until you have spent enough time and effort to build your business to a level that sort of smoothes out the peaks and valleys.

The impact of the highs and lows you will probably experience in developing your home based business is amplified by the fact that you are now in business on your own. You are the boss and get to make all the decisions, but you are also on your own in dealing with the frustrations that will occur along the way while you are developing your business.

When working at home a person can, at times, experience a feeling of isolation which is probably brought on by the lack of interaction of a work force environment.

There can also be periods of doubt in the early going...gee, did I pick a viable business opportunity?...am I doing the right things to develop my business?...when will I start making a profit?, and so on. You are most likely going to experience the "two steps forward and one step backward" syndrome and the ever-looming temptation to become discouraged. However, keep in mind that as long as you have more steps going forward than backward, you will eventually get ahead! Simple, but often overlooked.

Relatively minor setbacks can seem huge in the early stages of developing a work at home business and can really contribute to some noticeable "mood swings". For example, if you are just starting out and you have four customers/clients and you happen to lose one...that's a 25% drop! However, if you fast-forward in
time to the point where you have hundreds of customers/clients and you lose one...that's just a mere fraction of 1%! Exactly the same event, just at a different point in time.

Hang in there and just keep on keepin' on. If you have chosen a viable home business opportunity (one that has been around for awhile and in which some other people are having success) you will achieve success, but it takes time and there will be ups and downs along the way. Remember the old saying..."it takes a long
time to become an overnight success".

A Home Based Business Means Quick, Easy Money...And Pigs Will Fly

by: Kirk Bannerman
Yup, here come those wonderful flying pigs!
Where does it ever end? I've been involved with Internet-based home businesses for several years and I continue to be exposed to a seemingly endless barrage of offers (all costing me money, of  course) claiming to be "the secret" for making a fantastic income, in a very short time, and with very little effort involved.
I must admit that I may have a slightly self-serving reason for addressing this topic.

My articles are published on my home-based business websites for the purpose of trying to give prospective team members a true sense of what is really involved with starting and developing a successful home based business. The self-serving part, I suppose, is that I want people joining my team to have the straight scoop going in so that we don't waste each other's time. I admit to being selfish in this regard (I don't want to waste time working with people that have unrealistic expectations), but it is also very efficient for both parties involved, so it is not a totally one-way thing.

Now, back to the topic at hand. There's no magic here, folks. Once you have selected the home business that you are going to pursue, there are no substitutes for time and effort in developing your business. A dream of being an "overnight success" is just that, a dream.

I can tell you from personal experience, that once you "pay your dues" and begin to have real success with a home based business, it is really terrific. Think about Nirvana or Valhalla, take your pick, but in any event it's really sweet.

When I started developing a home based business, making a good income was obviously an objective, but I also had other sub-objectives. One of the most important things was to have nearly total time flexibility (I mean, if I was willing to continue to wear the 9-5 Mon-Fri collar I could just have just stayed in the previously "traditional" work force).

Time flexibility was (and still is) a "biggie" for me. Many people working at home have the same need for various reasons. For work at home moms, a home business can be a real godsend to accommodate the hectic time pressures, particularly when the kids are quite young and mom is also spelled "transportation".

In my own particular case, the reason is not quite so noble...I just want (need?) to be able to pick up my fly rod and go fishing at a moments notice (sometimes I'll be gone for a week or two at a time, but now the business has enough momentum that it keeps on operating just as well as if I were here tending to it on a
daily basis).

Bear in mind, I am only able do the breakaway thing now that I have put in all the up-front time and effort and now have developed enough kinetic energy in my home-based Internet business to be able to enjoy the fruits of my labor.

Affiliate Programs – The Fast Track to Wealth

by: Peter Dobler
Remember the day when you made the ultimate decision to change your life? Yes, it was the day when you decided to start your own home business. Gosh, I remember the anxiety when I uploaded my very first web site, waiting for something to happen. It’s like going onto a stage and performing in front of a large crowd.

Ok, what has this to do with affiliate programs and how to make money with them? Not much other than this is the primary reason why people spending money online. Emotions are the number one selling factor, period. And newbie web masters are loaded with emotions.

When you started your home business, did you have a product to sell? Neither did I. That’s why affiliate programs are perfect for startup home businesses. In a nutshell, an affiliate sells products from somebody else and keeps a commission from each sale. An affiliate id responsible for all the advertising and only gets paid whenever there’s a sale.

Take a break and think about this for a minute. Every day there are thousands of people online, searching for products and ideas to make money with. They know that there’s big money to make and they are eager to get started. When you started your home business it probably never crossed your mind to sell your own products and to run your own affiliate program.

If you’re in the online business for a while with mediocre results it is time to switch sides. Why should you carry most of the risk with your advertisement spending with less than satisfactory sales results? Not to mention that you’re at the mercy of somebody else’s reliability to send you your hard earned money.

If you don’t have a product to sell, go out there and search for products with master resale rights. This will grant you the exclusive rights to sell the product and keep 100% of the profits. Selling the product through affiliates doesn’t violate this, because you’re paying your affiliates for the advertising efforts, the final sale is still made by you.

Of course there are a million products with master resale rights available. Choose your product wisely. You don’t want to start an affiliate program with products that are already over marketed and maybe available for free or as part of a bonus package. This takes some time and research, but it is well worth the effort.

One source is to research the public domain sector and compile your own information product. There are numerous publications available on this topic. Another source is to join a membership program that sells master resale rights products. Make sure that they offer unique products and check their rules. Many offer a trial membership, take advantage of this.

Once you have your product start your affiliate program. Don’t join one of the many services that offer affiliate program services for a monthly fee. Here’s why. Having thousands of affiliates advertising your product is a great thing. Having thousands of free links to your web site is priceless.

Create as many advertising samples for your affiliates as possible. Have these samples point to different entry points to your web site. Banners are the worst advertising tools, but newbie web masters love them. They are easy to implement. What do you care, you got your free link to your website. Make sure that you use search engine friendly affiliate links. Affiliate links with a “?” are recognized as such. Better are the affiliate links that look like a directory structure. The easy way to implement this is to use PHP as your language of choice.
Guess what will happen after a few months running your own affiliate program from your website? Your own web site will skyrocket in rankings on any search engine, because you got so many links to your web site without having a link farm on your own. This is every web masters dream. Now you have a choice.

You either aggressively promote your affiliate program or you promote your products. Either way you win.
If you’re still skeptical, go to Google or Yahoo and search for links pointing to your favorite affiliate program. Simply type ‘links:’ and your affiliate program’s domain name into the search field. Make sure you don’t have any blanks. This will return all the websites that are linking back to this affiliate program. Check out the number on the right upper corner where it says ‘Results 1 – 10 of about x’. x stands for the total number of links. Now do the same for your website. Hmm, you got nothing? Well, that’s the difference. I hope you see the power of this by now.

Before you go out there and slab together your own affiliate program. Do your homework and research as much as possible. You want to get it right the first time.
Good luck to you all,

Affiliate Products or Create Your Own? You Decide...

by: Mal Keenan
Every business need products or services to sell and without these you DO NOT have a businesss. Makes sense, right?

If you are thinking of starting an online business you need to decide whether you want to sell your own products or whether you want to do as I do and sell other peoples' for commissions.

I have been making a full-time income from home as an Affiliate Marketer since 2004. I sell other people products and services.

If you are new to online marketing you may not believe it is possible to sell without ones own products. I was convinced when the company checks started rolling in.

Let us first look at some ideas for creating your own product.

Discovering what people need and want is tantamount to finding a lucrative market for your work at home business. There are three things you should look for in determining the profitability of a particular market:

1. How great is the demand? 2. How scarce is the supply? Or restated, how much competition will you encounter? 3. Will you be able to provide for this demand?

If the answer to all the three considerations above are favorable, then you have for yourself a good market that your online home business can cater to.

Of course, there are some tricks and tactics that you could use to find ideal markets. Here are some of them:

* Go to www.inventory.overture.com or www.nichebot.com and type in the type of business you wish to pursue. The results will show how many searches were made, direct or related, for that particular subject over the past few weeks.

* Make a search for the same business type in any of the search engines. These results will show how abundant or scarce your competition will be.

* From time to time, there are special reports that are published which enumerate hot niches waiting to be exploited. Niches, of course, are highly specialized markets that most businesses tend to overlook.

Once you find a market, it's time to come up with a product. Information products, ie. E-books, are the most ideal for your online home business. They can be digitally delivered, and they don't require physical space for stocking.

There are four popular ways by which you could come up with an information product for your online home business:

* You could create these products yourself. Maybe you are an expert in a certain area? Could you write a special report? Don't forget to check out if there is a demand for the info as outlined above.

* You could hire someone to create them for you. Elance.com is a favourite for online marketers to have products created and I have used them on quite a few occasions myself.

* You could use existing products that have been created by others, through the purchase of their resale rights.

Mike Hill is an expert on using Public Domain Works for this purpose. You can check out his site here: http://www.malkeenan.com/offers/publicdomainworks.html

Then there is Affiliate Marketing.....

You can join affiliate programs in 1000s of different markets in almost any topic imaginable and choose to pre-sell any of the products they have to offer. As mentioned above this is my preferred method.

When choosing affiliate products you want something of quality which also offers high commissions. Most quality affiliate programs will also offer tools in the form of graphics and pre-written ad copy to help you make your money.

Some affiliate programs will offer 75% commission to you for selling their service online. I would be looking for at least 50%, especially for low priced products like e-books.

For high priced items, marketing seminars, marketing course etc. I would expect 30-50%.
The benefits of selling affiliate products is that you don't have to worry about payment processors nor product support, which can be a nightmare.

Selling affiliate products frees up a lot of my time. The way I see it, there is no point working at home unless it allows me more freedom to do the things I like to do.

Whether you choose your own product or to go the affiliate route there is a lot of money to be made, IF you do the right things. I am here to make your decision easier and give you whatever help and advice I can to enable you to proceed.

Contact me anytime for ideas and advice.
I genuinely want to help.

Advertising Your Home Business on a Budget

by: Stone Evans
When you are starting out in a new home business and no one knows who you are, one of the greatest challenges you will face is how to drum up new business.

If there were not people in your community or marketplace that you knew who needed your products or services, you probably would not have started your business to begin with. But, once you have talked to those who you personally knew who needed your what you offer, then your next task is to find others who will help keep your doors open.

Many people know that they must turn to advertising at some point in the future, but they hope that day will be long down the road. For some, this utopian concept will come to fruition. But for the rest of us in the real world, we must come up with creative solutions for meeting our home business advertising needs while working within our budget.

Most people have a misconception about having to spend lots of money in order to advertise their home business. When you start out, you honestly will not have much money available for advertising, and if you do, you should still spend it wisely.

Before you jump headfirst into the world of advertising, let me share some of the lessons I have learned concerning this most important topic.

LESSON #1

It does not have to cost an arm and a leg to advertise your home business, unless you fail to plan and fail to test.

As much as is possible, you should always test your advertising. If you jump in and start dumping tons of money in to advertising without first testing your advertising, you might find yourself broke and without sales at the end of the road. Most people who commit this error write off their failure on the home business they chose or the economy or any of a hundred other excuses. But, if they are unwilling to take responsibility for their mistake, they will never learn from their mistake. Don't let this be you.

LESSON #2

All testing should be done in blocks. If you begin to advertise simultaneously in newspapers, radio and television, how will you know which advertising is bringing people to your cash register? You won't. All you will know that something might be working, but you will not know what is actually doing the trick.

Even if you tell people in your advertising to tell you how they found you, my experience shows that fewer than 10% of the people ever will tell you anything --- and those people who do may not even get the facts straight! You cannot rely on your customers to tell you what advertising is working for your home business. You must put in the extra effort to know for yourself.

LESSON #3

Only when you have a proven and solid advertising portfolio should you venture to drop big bucks in an advertising campaign. Even then, you should be careful to keep further measurements to determine how much the maximum advantage of an ad would be. Sometimes you might be able to reach ten times as many people, but depending on the kind of media and other factors, the additional exposure will only generate twice as many sales. Keep your eye attuned to situations like this to get the most from your advertising dollars.

LESSON #4

As Lesson #3 illustrates, sometimes your best advertising investment may actually cost you less money. When you are first starting out, whether you are running a home business or a business outside of your home, you need to be able to get people talking and thinking about your business.

If you are busy testing ads in media's such as the newspaper, magazines, radio, and television, you need to learn ways of promoting your business that do not require large cash expenditures. A few examples are:
· Word of Mouth
· Business Cards
· Press Releases
· Non-Primetime Ads on Radio and Television

Here is more information about each type of low-cost advertising:

WORD OF MOUTH

This of course is the cheapest kind of advertising on the planet --- it does not cost you anything. Ask your customers if they know anyone who could also use your products or services. When they are happy with your offerings and service, they will be willing to tell you whom you can contact, and they will pass the word for you.

BUSINESS CARDS

You can usually pick up 500 business cards for about $20. When you do, hand them out. Do not give more than a couple of cards to each person. If they need more cards from you, they will ask.
Some people are known to network with others on a regular basis. Some of these people are also known to be always looking for an extra few bucks. With these people, you can suggest to them that if they write their name on the back of one of your business cards and the card is presented to you, then you will pay a referral fee to them. You do not have to offer much --- sometimes one dollar is enough. Look at your home business and your offerings and decide how much would be a good referral fee.

PRESS RELEASES

Press Releases are a good source for generating news about your home business. The business editor at your local newspaper is always on the lookout for a good business story to fill the business news section of the newspaper.

Of course, the business editor understands the economics of running a paper and is more inclined to run your story if you buy advertising in his/her publication, but will still print stories for special events and openings.

The important thing to remember about Press Releases is that it must be constructed in the form of a news story. Even if you are a sole proprietorship, quotes from you should be written in a third person format: John Doe said, "Your quote here."

A Press Release should pack the most important information at the beginning of the copy, and leave extra details towards the end.

You should always provide the reporter who gets the task a simple and easy way for him/her to contact you directly. Often the reporter will want to contact you to get details that will enhance their take on your story.

NON-PRIMETIME ADS ON RADIO AND TELEVISION

Believe it or not, some of the best rates for radio and television are on the overnight and non-primetime venues. These target times are not a total waste as they can easily keep the infomercial people in business.

These off-hours are just less populated than the primetime hours.
Don't be afraid to check your local radio and television rates for non-primetime hours to see what bargains may exist. With television, primetime is 7pm to 10pm. With radio, primetime is 8am to 5pm. This sure leaves a whole lot of hours available to advertise your home business at discount rates!

IN CONCLUSION

When it comes down to it, there is a lot to understand about advertising, but when you have the basic knowledge down pat, everything will fall into place and bring more dollars to your bank account.

10 Ways To Create A Popular Online Community

by: Rudy Cline
An online community could be a chat room, e-mail discussion list, discussion forum or other technologies
that allow groups of people to communicate at your web site. When you have a popular online community
it will increase your traffic and sales. Below are ten ways to attract people to participate in your online
community.

1. Tell your visitors that you post a new, free offer every day, week or month in your online community.
The free offers should be attractive to your target audience.

2. Regularly schedule experts or famous guests to participate in your online community. You could
design it to be a virtual class or a question/answer session.

3. Post testimonials on your web site from people that have participated in your online community.
The testimonials could be about what people have learned or liked while participating in it.

4. Don't allow blatant ads in your online communities. If people decide to visit your online community and
see a ton of ads they most likely won't be back.

5. Post all the benefits of participating in your online community on your web site. You could write it like
you're writing an ad for a product you're selling.

6. Submit your chat room, e-mail discussion list or discussion board to online community directories.
You can find them by typing " the community type" with the word "directory" in any search engine.

7. Create an e-zine just for people who participate in your online community. Allow them to subscribe
for free. When they receive each issue, it will remind them to come back and participate in your community.

8. You (the owner of the online community) should participate regularly. Post information that will benefit
the other people. This will show them you care about your online community members.

9. Have plenty of people to monitor your online community. They could remove postings that turn away people like profanity, spam and other off- subject postings.

10. Your online community should contain user friendly features, like a search option for archived discussions, easy posting or chatting options, email updates or digests, etc.
